Coffee Fiend Rips Off Barista Supplies From Bernal Heights Grocery Store
| What would you do for one more cup ... |
Last week, a grocery store told police that an unknown man ran inside the neighborhood shop, grabbed part of the store's coffee maker and bolted out of the store.
Police are baffled by the brazen theft, which occurred at about 2:20 p.m.
"I don't know why anyone would take that," said Officer Albie Esparza.
He then gave us some ideas as to why: The thief took the metal rack with three coffee drips off the maker, which is worth more than $400.
The man was seen getting into a dark sedan car. Police scoured the neighborhood looking for the wanna-be barista, who was no doubt already home brewing a cup of joe, or three.
