Gang members off to jail
Police arrested two San Mateo County residents who allegedly shot a man on his way to work in the Mission District yesterday.

David Salgado, 19, and Giovanni Sandoval, 19, were taken into custody shortly after officers responded to a shooting near 2114 Mission St. Monday morning.

At about 7 a.m., the victim was walking to work, near the corner of 17th and Mission Streets when two men drove up to the victim and started flashing gang signs. One of the men shot the victim in the back and drove off. Police said the victim is not a gang member.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is recovering from the gunshot wound. The victim was able to give police a good description of the shooter. Officers later found the two suspects and a gun in the back of their car.

Both have been charged with attempted homicide, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a loaded weapon, and participating in street gangs.
