Fire Burns Two Homes Near Castro
| Spreading flames |
At 3 a.m, firefighters were called to a fire at 1370 Clayton Street in the Upper Market neighborhood. Shortly after, the fire spread to the neighboring home, according to media reports.
There were no injuries reported, but at least six people were evacuated.
Investigators told SF Appeal that it's still too soon to say whether the fires are connected to the four suspicious blazes that started in the Castro last week, which displaced more than a dozen people.
Police are investigating a possible serial arsonist linked to last week's fires.
On Friday morning, a fire was set outside a home at Collingwood and 18th streets. The day before, at about 5 a.m., three fires were set, one of which displaced 13 residents and destroyed two homes. The first fire started at 2155 15th St., followed by another fire at 3620 16th St. Shortly after that, firefighters were called to a third fire at 17th and Hartford streets.
