Craig Carlos-Valentino, Gun-Toting Man Who Stopped Bay Bridge Traffic, Goes to Jail

On Nov. 11, 2010, the Carlos-Valentino reportedly brandished a gun and claimed he had a bomb, halting the westbound morning commute on the Bay Bridge for more than two hours. He had tossed a gun -- or a replica of a firearm -- off the side of the Bay Bridge after getting out of his SUV and sitting on the railing.
He was seen talking on his cell phone, presumably to radio shows and 911 dispatchers who reported that he was staging the standoff because his wife was planning to leave him and he couldn't deal with it anymore.
On Friday, Carlos- Valentino, 52, plead guilty to felony child endangerment and making a false bomb.
"This defendant placed his life, the life of his daughter, and the lives of the officers that responded to the scene at risk," said District Attorney George Gascón.
Along with jail time, Carlos-Valentino will spend four years on probation and is required to complete a one-year child abuser treatment program.
He will be setenced on March 25.
