SPCA Helps Find Homes For More Than 200 Cats and Dogs

​It's true that San Francisco is not considered a pet-friendly city.

Still, it did a pretty good job over the holidays luring cat and dog lovers to Union Square, and then convincing them to adopt the homeless animals.

In November, the SPCA launched its Macy's pet display, hoping to find homes for 320 cats and dogs by Jan. 2

And while the agency didn't quite reach that goal, it did pretty damn good.

Gone Home

​According to the SPCA, 295 cats and dogs were adopted -- mostly cats. There were 14 dogs and 281 cats who found new homes.

The holiday campaign also brought in $71,784 in donations.
