Wanted an apology, but got death threats instead.
State Sen. Leland Yee received death threats after the San Francisco Democrat asked conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh to apologize for mocking the Chinese language in his radio show last week.

Yee's staffers said the messages came via fax this morning to both his San Francisco and Capitol offices  with the following threats:

"FIGHTING The Marxist Nigger Thug Hussein Obama & Fish Head Leeland Yee

To: JoBama Rectum Sniffing Moron LEELAND LEE Achtung! Fish Head Leeland Lee.  Rush Limbaugh will kick your Chink ass and expose you for the fool you are. Without exceptions, Marxists are enemies of the United States Constitution!  Death to all Marxists!  Foreign and Domestic!"

The faxes included an American-flag-adorned pickup truck dragging a noose.

Update: Leland Yee Fans Support Boycott of Rush Limbaugh

The faxes have similar graphics and language to messages Yee got last April when he demanded for Sarah Palin's speaking fee at California State University to be disclosed, said Adam Keigwin, Yee's chief of staff.

After the Jan. 8 shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords,  the Pima County Sheriff's Office in Arizona contacted Yee's office regarding the April faxes, looking into a possible connection to other faxes found during the Arizona shooting investigation.

The faxes have been turned over to the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms to investigate, according to Yee's office.

"It is quite disturbing that such racist sentiment still exists in our country," said Yee, who is running for San Francisco mayor.  "As I have said in the past, it is unfortunate acts like these that demonstrate why we must continue to be vigilant against hate and intolerance. Such vitriol has no place within our political discourse or anywhere in our society."

Last week, Yee blasted Limbaugh after he went on the air and talked about how Chinese President Hu Jintao's speech wasn't translated during his visit with President Obama.

"He was speaking and they weren't translating, normally they have someone translating every couple of words," Limbaugh said.

Limbaugh then broke into an imitation of the president's speech, using a fake dialect and making up what he thought sounded like Chinese language.

Yee is inside the state building in San Francisco where everyone who enters must pass through metal detectors, according to his staff.
