Another Homicide
A 25-year-old man was shot to death inside a cafe in broad daylight.

Police were called to the 900 block of Polk at Geary Boulevard at about 424 p.m. after there were reports of a shooting. The man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Michael Andraychak.

The shooter fled the scene.

Investigators would not confirm the name of the cafe, but media reports say the shooting happened at Jebena Coffee & Tea Company, which is located at the 990 Polk Street.

The shooting is San Francisco's sixth homicide this year and the first since Joe Olivares Hernandez was beaten to death at Temple Nightclub Sunday.

Jebena is a nice cafe. I like their drip coffee.

My condolences to the bereaved. Sad to see someone cut down in their youth.

Dollars to cents says that a "lookout" at the shitty homeless center caddy-corner from the cafe dropped a dime on him. There's always a row of shady looking people milling about that place. Or the projects above the cafe. Or the crappy hotel across from the cafe. Or the crappy hotel across from the cafe in the other direction.

See what I'm getting at here? SF urban planners suck. "But at least it has bay windows."

@Scurvy

Projects above the cafe??? Hahaha...these are not the projects, it's a senior housing facility, thank you very much. Where are you from, that you think these are the projects?? They are practically brand new, just to let you know.

It is so sad and unfortunate that these things are happening. The 6th homocide before the month is even over, it's very sad. This is a human issue, why people are resorting to violence when we already have so much going on in the world. Take the focus off the SF Urban Planners, that's neither here nor there.

Very, very true. I hear that they are planning on changing that Homeless shelter into a medical center. With a change like that, it will help to lower pointless violence in the area such as this unfortunate case.

The homeless sheleter is the only thing not being demolished on that block for CPMC. They will only keep shoving more and more people into the place with less and less money. People getting murdered will not make a difference. Every time the neighborhood complains about the escalating violence in the area, people are accused of not being compassionate and for promoting gentrification.
