Ricardo Arias Cano, a conductor who worked on Caltrain, was arrested recently on suspicion of propositioning two female passengers for sex, one who was a minor.

The 60-year-old South San Francisco man has since been banned from Caltrain property. According to Steve Fein, who works in the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, Cano used his authority as a train conductor to get sexual favors on two different days while operating the southbound train headed toward Santa Clara County.

"On both occasions put them in vulnerable situations and then propositioned them," Fein said.

Officials announced today that Cano was has been charged with one felony count of contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, two counts of false imprisonment by means of deceit, one count of annoying or molesting a child and one count of soliciting to engage in lewd conduct.

Cano has been employed by Amtrak, which contracts with Caltrain for transit operations.
