Maurice Williamson Shot Dead in Bayview

Williamson was discovered by police last night at 7:47 p.m. in the 200 block of Cashmere. His gunshot death is "under active investigation" according to Steve Gelman, the administrator of the medical examiner's office.

Should Williamson's death be ruled a homicide, it would be the 49th -- and, hopefully, last -- of the year. Victim No. 48, Grady Anderson, 17, was shot dead on Dec. 15.
