The Sonoma County Coroner has told SF Weekly the identity of the woman killed yesterday night at Safari West Animal Preserve when a tree blew over onto her tent: 70-year-old Gayle Falgoust of Madison, Ala.

The tourist was sleeping alongside her 7-year-old granddaughter when heavy winds toppled an oak tree at around 9 p.m. Falgoust died on the scene; a crane was required to remove the felled tree. The child is unhurt -- at least physically.

Safari West houses exotic African creatures on land just outside Santa Rosa. It offers park-goers the chance to sleep overnight in canvas tents.

Per the park's website, "The sounds of Africa will echo in your dreams."
