AT&T Officially Sucks, Says Consumer Reports

But this battle station does have weaknessess...
Earlier this year, Consumer Reports unloaded on the iPhone 4. Now the influential magazine has given the thumbs-down to the iPhone's obligatory service carrier, AT&T.

Echoing the bellowed curses of legions of iPhone-wielding yappers, Consumer Reports rated AT&T at the bottom of the barrel -- where, not surprisingly, you don't get reception on your iPhone.

More than half the AT&T-bound respondents only used the service because they had to for their iPhones. Their dissatisfaction was evident: AT&T finished last or tied for last in every category polled in the survey of 58,000 cell phone users.

"Our survey suggests that an iPhone from Verizon Wireless, which is rumored, could indeed be good news for iPhone fans," said Paul Reynolds, electronics editor for Consumer Reports.

And bad news for AT&T. But they've still got the World Series to gloat about.
