Tesoro Refinery Spews Black Smoke

• gdewar & sickntired: You truly are ignorant, aren't you? I guess you get around by foot all the time don't you? What type of fuel do you expect to put into your vehicles? My husband works there, HIS life was at risk so you could wake up and put gas into your tank. As Wayne says: it was either blow up or burn if off. Truly, truly ignorant.

• Tesaro has been sited for many problems over the years, as well as the other refineries... they all need to be Shut Down...for good! I'm sick and tired of breathing their toxic fallout...! Re: PG&E...We need alternative power, we need a lot less talk and way more action...PG&E does Not care about us...it's all about the money! And their "dumb" meters jack up our monthly energy costs...!

• gdewar, what are you talking about? The refinery flared because PG&E dropped the power to it. It's either flare or blow up when that happens. This would not effect their greenhouse gas emissions or get them ticketed because it is outside their control.

• I guess their investment in killing the climate change law was really in their interest after all.
