A warehouse packed with rock musician Neil Young's memorabilia burst into flames this morning, with the damage done estimated at roughly $1 million. No word yet on whether Young is now reconsidering one of his most famous lyrics: "It's better to burn out than fade away.

The San Carlos warehouse was the repository for guitars, paintings, at least six vintage cars, and other items spanning Young's four-decade career. Sixty to 70 percent of the warehouse's contents were saved, according to firefighters.

Preliminary reports have not pegged the fire as suspicious. The warehouse did not have sprinklers as it, too, is something of a vintage structure.
