Men, Allegedly Photographed Beating Women, Arrested
| The camera in question wasn't quite that clunky... |
In the wee hours of Saturday on the 3400 block of 20th Street in the Mission, a trio of twentysomething women were set upon by a pair of men. While the encounter was still at the verbal stage, one of the women whipped out a disposable camera and began snapping shots of the men accosting her friend. She soon found herself taking photos of a beating -- and was then beaten herself.
Nathan Ram, a 28-year-old Pacifica resident, is accused of punching the photographer and making off with the camera -- earning him two counts of aggravated assault and a robbery charge. Don Tran, 29, also of Pacifica, was also arrested for three counts of aggravated assault. All three women were punched or thrown to the ground during the attack, and later received medical treatment at the scene.
Capping off the melee, an unidentified third suspect stole one of the women's purses and ran off. He has not been identified, and the purse has not been recovered.
The camera, however, has been recovered -- and the film within it will be of some interest. It's unclear if the image of the unidentified suspect is in any of the photographs the women snapped.
