Does Jean Quan Have a Second Outfit?

Jean Quan -- and that outfit -- look familiar...

​Oakland is a city with real needs, and Mayor-elect Jean Quan's honeymoon will be short. But it looks like Quan won't be wasting any time picking out what to wear before getting to work.

We've already written about how Quan's victory over Don Perata was both a mathematical anomaly and the epitome of how to win a ranked-choice voting election. Now on to more important queries. Such as: Does Jean Quan have a second outfit? Because on the campaign trail, in her official glamor shots, and, this morning on the set of the KTVU morning news, Quan was outfitted in the same violet ensemble.

Violet, it seems, is Quan's color. Particularly this purple number -- This is Quan's official campaign shot.

Not that this is a bad thing; It's a fine outfit and eschewing conspicuous consumption is admirable these days (assuming Quan doesn't have a closet full of identical dresses, like a political, purple Smurfette). And while civic boosterism is nice, you can't blame Quan for avoiding a green and gold getup. Finally, should anyone wish to create a Jean Quan action figure, that's a much easier proposition now.

Hopefully for Quan -- and Oakland -- her future performance as mayor may inspire someone to do so.
