Gary Scott Holland Charged With Murder of Kathleen Horan

​On the very day the San Francisco Police Department blamed a man impersonating a utility worker for lying his way into Kathleen Horan's apartment and murdering her, they made an arrest in the case.

Gary Scott Holland, 43, is charged with murder in the death of Horan, a 46-year-old Russian Hill publicist and philanthropist. Holland, a city resident, is currently on parole for attempted murder in Fresno.

The SFPD at this time have not deigned to explain how they connected the dots and nabbed Holland on Friday, but did release this statement:

​As a result of the collaborative efforts of SFPD Officers, Homicide Inspectors, Crime Scene Investigators, the Crime Lab and especially the witnesses who came forward, the San Francisco Police Department was able to identify Holland.
