Dennis Peron, Pot Guru, Arraigned on Child Porn, Drug Charges

• Sometime around 1970, Dennis was shot by SF police detective Napolean Hendrix. It was probably an assassination attempt.

• God--I am sure it's true--I remember buying pot over there 20 years ago...he had a harem of underage boys!

Oh, btw, pot clubs weren't throwing people out of their homes - that was gentrification back in the '90s when lawyer lofts replaced entire families (for a slick price), and SUVs were set ablaze by protesters taking things one step further. Don't you even try to blame pot clubs or revise our history - you're confusing us with the rest of the country. We know our history, dear outsider.

• i agree with anonymous. i lived at the 'castle' when i was in my teens and there were several of us between the ages of 16-20 engaging in various sex acts with each other and dennis. one of the boys was in a bad way with meth, now it makes sense. i also swear on my elders souls and all that is holy that this is true.

• At least Mr. Peron got out on bail. Reverend Roger Christie, long time Cannabis Liberator, "Pot guru", Human rights activist, Peacemaker Award winner and founder of the THC-Ministry remains incarcerated at the Honolulu Federal Detention Center since July 8th, 2010, denied bail five times. The judges have declared him a "Danger to the community" and have determined that Reverend Christies feels his is "above the law." When raided he had 2 pounds of Cannabis in his residence. Last I checked, Hawaii was still the 50th STATE!!!! This is NOT supposed to happen in this country. Where is the due process, and unalienable rights? The DEA will pull any form of trickery to get these "Dangerous" citizens out of our community. WE THE PEOPLE need to grow some enormous BALLS and rise up against this tyranny. I sure hope the citizens of SF see through this character assasination and defend their homeboy. Jury nullification, anyone? As I said, WE THE PEOPLE can stop this insanity

• i was homeless in SF for a year, hanging in the castro. those of you who think the cops are making up the child porn charges obviously don't know denis personally. i used to watch 12-15 year old boys go back to his house. they all brag about what goes on there, and it would make even the most jaded person vomit. because of his "status" as the "pot guru" he has been able to hide behind others and not get caught. he needs to rot in prison for screwing little boys!! anyone who thinks he is an upstanding pillar of the community are delusional and feeding into his propaganda.

• In the final estimation- the charges are not true-they're false. What is true, is that the rules of the game were changed many times in the last week or so- all while many of us in the movement rushed to help Dennis restore his liberties, all during an election week he was deeply involved in, but not free to make comment about. With the ball game planned for the following Monday and the city and county closed, there was no redress ,no way to even see a Judge, until after the election, which the courts would also be closed for on tuesday. Something the arresting authorities knew. What was allegedly found during an August raid on Peron's B&B, was the justification for this November election week arrest of Dennis Peron. And so, I continue to find the timing of this arrest , most suspect. Additionally, there were the charges that continually changed, or at least, were continually reported as changed, and the needed amounts of bail was also something that continued to change ,or at least ,was continually reported as different amounts each time an inquiry was made. When a number of us called- in independently, we all got different $$$ numbers from as high as 225 thousand dollars, to as low as 85 thousand dollars for bail. It is true, that from my experience in the courts, I can say with out a doubt, that old court systems such as Chicago's Cook County Courts, do as a regular day to day practice, cause these sort of problems, and it is not a personal thing aimed at anyone, but is the kind of incompetence born out of an old and broken justice system. This is also true of the justice system in some of California's older cities, San Francisco being one of these; but the very large number and timing of these (sic) errors could not possibly be simply due to incompetence, and so they too remain suspect. At one point even Dennis himself , while being held. had been lead to believe that all the charges against him were to be dropped, and I then repeated this when informing the press/media of what we believed was happening. The claim seemed so genuine , that even Dennis believed it for a short time, as we did and as we reported it from Peron's Castro Castle, where we awaited his continually delayed release. In the end, all of this alleged incompetence conspired to keep Dennis without liberty, and therefore, unable to give comment on the continuing elections and their outcomes, until days after the elections concluded. Now that's political, and a crime. , Peron's continued critical view of proposition 19 had caused some within our movement , even before election week came, to create and circulate these same vicious and hurtful lies about Dennis ; all while their resentment to his opposition to prop 19 would not ever be mentioned. Additionally, hate filled ENEMY LISTS were created , some as websites by key Prop 19 supporters; and then, after losing the election, they created BOYCOTT LISTS as well. A FB warning that the progressives of all of North America, as well as a worldwide cannabis community that does not do lists, would be advised as to who was doing them , was enough to cause the list pages to be shuttered, at least for now. As to the final details regarding Peron's release; it was finally determined to pay the bond on the largest bail $$ number and be done with it. And so yes, that is what we have done, but we are not stopping there, for there remains a medical marijuana movement in need of rescue and restoration, and a related race for attorney general, where its rightful winner must be the one who is allowed to take office. We will be watching and working, intent on reaching these goals, and hope the people of California will remain our allies in this work, as they have since 1996. Viva Peron!

• I am a medical marijuana user and have stayed at Dennis' house several times as a personal guest. I am also good friends with someone that used to live at the Castro Castle and work on his old farm in Lake County. Those of us that have known Dennis for a long time are aware of his meth use and penchant for young boys. It's no secret, and it's very sad that the leader of this community has chosen that path. Dennis is known for taking in young homeless BOYS off of the street and preying on their vulnerabilities. The SF police don't care about medical pot, so this isn't political - it is about Dennis having illegal drugs and child porn in his house. I swear on my grandmother's grave that everything I have said is true.

• I was a guest at the castro castle when the police raided it. I was also arrested and all of my money (in no way drug related ) was taken as well as my computer and hard drive. First of all, the police and the entire system is one big @#$ JOKE !! The police had a search warrant for one of the two addresses at the Castro Castle. They tore through the entire house and took everybody in. The police stole money that was out and when I was released and got back to my room, the room was completely torn apart and a buch of personal property was missing. the police think the are untouchable and if you so much as look at them the wrong way, will hall your ass in to jail. the raid happened in August and I am stil getting the run around from everybody involved in this. My roommate and I are in the process of filing a law suit for wrongful arrest, defamation of character and what ever else I can pin on those losers. it's gonna happen. it's just gonna take some time.

• I am glad to hear that most of the charges have been dropped, I first met Dennis when I was involved in the (now defunct) "Orange County Hemp Council" a little over a decade back.... I really like Dennis, he is a compassionate and intelligent man whom will put everything else aside to help someone out of a bad situation and help put them back on the right path... I have stayed at the Castle, talked with him at length and enjoyed the company of his most excellent staff... I don't think they would hold the owners of Marriott liable if they found something in one of the guest rooms of their many hotels, but plug in that name "Dennis Peron" and it's on baby! • What a crock! Law enforcement on every level has been after this guy for years because he's been the face of the pot population. Trace who instigated this investigation and raid and you'll find someone like Sgt. Marty Halloran who was the de facto head of the SFPD pot task force before Gascon moved him to, as far as I can see (I watched him on SFGTV a couple of days ago) ... far as I can see Marty's new job is going to used car dealers and getting gift junkers to use in cop stings?
