Bloody Weekend: Two Men Shot in Head
We wrote earlier about a suspected murder in the 900 block of Chestnut and a disturbing triple shooting in Potrero Hill that put a 20-year-old man, a 52-year-old grandfather, and his 3-year-old trick-or-treating granddaughter into the hospital.
But that's not the last of it.
Just shy of 1 a.m. on Sunday, shotspotters detected gunfire in the 1400 block of Newcomb Ave. in Bayview. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 30-year-old black man slumped over the wheel of his car with a gunshot wound to the head. Police tell SF Weekly he is in critical condition.
At 3:10 a.m. this morning, another man was shot, leaving him near death. On the 600 block of Holyoke, also in Bayview, police could only offer this rudimentary -- and chilling -- event description: "suspect approached victim from behind and shot him in the head."
The victim, a 24-year-old black man, suffered life-threatening wounds.
