Traffic was halted this morning when a gunman acted out on the Bay Bridge
The gun-toting driver who halted westbound traffic on the Bay Bridge this morning with bomb threats is currently in custody at the San Francisco CHP office. "Obviously, we have a few questions for him," said California Highway Patrol Officer A. Paulson.

Later today, the 50ish Antioch man will be transferred to San Francisco County Jail.

Paulson also confirmed that the teenage girl in the driver's black SUV was indeed his daughter. She is physically unharmed and was not overtly threatened during the ordeal.

The driver tossed a gun or replica of a gun over the side of the bridge after he wandered out of his SUV and sat on the railing.

While the identity of the driver has not yet been released, the CHP confirmed he is a former emergency medical technician who had a light bar and flashing lights installed in the rear of his vehicle.

In addition to telling police and 911 dispatchers he had a gun and explosives, the driver also delivered the same messages to radio call-in shows. He purportedly told the radio shows that he was doing what he did because his wife had cuckolded him, planned to leave him, and he couldn't take it anymore.

Update, 2:30 p.m.: The driver has been identified as 51-year-old Antioch resident Craig Carlos-Valentino, a security guard at several San Francisco nightclubs and father of eight.
