Okay, that's enough of that. The University of South Carolina lost its long-running legal battle with the University of Southern California. Use of the interlocking combination of the 18th and third letters is, legally, the SoCal school's domain.
A three-judge panel for the U.S. Appeals Court's Federal Circuit in January ruled in favor of Southern California, affirming a 2009 decision by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office review board.
South Carolina, it seems, is stuck using this for a logo.
