USC Owns 'SC' Logo: Supreme Court

Snoop's a fan of USC -- and the Supreme Court, it would seem

​A 13-year-legal battle over a pair of letters from the alphabet ended today when the Supreme Court declined to hear a case between USC and USC determining which school owns the right to market paraphernalia emblazoned with the "SC" logo.

This means an earlier ruling favoring USC stands.

Okay, that's enough of that. The University of South Carolina lost its long-running legal battle with the University of Southern California. Use of the interlocking combination of the 18th and third letters is, legally, the SoCal school's domain.

A three-judge panel for the U.S. Appeals Court's Federal Circuit in January ruled in favor of Southern California, affirming a 2009 decision by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office review board.

South Carolina, it seems, is stuck using this for a logo.
