Lana Lawless, Transgender Woman Golfer, Sues LPGA
Lawless, a Palm Springs resident, had gender reassignment surgery in 2005. Her lawsuit was filed in San Francisco-Federal District Court yesterday by attorney Christopher Dolan of San Francisco.
It appears Lawless had been warming up for this lawsuit for some time. She sent the LPGA a letter dated May 7, 2010:
And the LPGA responded like this:
She sent a similiar letter to the Long Drive Association, and they responded much the same:
And, as a result, Lawless is suing them for unfair competition and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, as well as asking for an injunction to force them to change the policy.
