Michael Warner, a 27-year-old Caucasian with no fixed address, has been charged with burning eight outhouses and three hand-washing stations.

Warner's alleged Saturday arson spree took place in the 400 block of Mission Bay Boulevard at around 7 p.m.; a witness saw him hop a fence and later identified him to police.

When asked if Warner was a suspect in the string of dozens of outhouse arsons that captivated this city in 2008 and 2009, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said there was "nothing to indicate" he was guilty of any other crimes, outhouse-related or not.

The suspect remains in lockup at county jail and is facing 11 counts of arson and one count of possession of ignitable materials.
