Hooligans!
The changing colors of the leaves, the sight of children walking to school, the onset of rain or snow, the odors of ubiquitous barbecues on sunny days: These are all poignant reminders of the changing seasons. Here's one no one will wax nostalgic over:  The report of a crime being committed by a person wearing a Halloween costume.

What appears to be the first Halloween mask-wearing violent robber of the Halloween season struck yesterday at Silver Avenue and Ledyard Street in Bayview.

A 40-year-old woman sitting on a park bench was attacked by a teenager outfitted in "a Halloween mask." A second teen then made off with her purse.

Our calls are in to the San Francisco Police Department to determine what manner of mask was being worn.

As Halloween costume shops crop up, so do instances of criminals in bizarre costumes. Tuesay's bizarre incident of a man outfitted as a Batman vampire knocking over a McDonald's in Belmont made national news.
