The rough is now extremely rough
An off-roading driver or drivers -- who may or may not have shouted "fore!" -- left several holes of the Golden Gate Park Golf Course resembling the starting line of a motocross.

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department reported on its official blog that "the greens and fairways on holes 6, 7 and 8 were heavily damaged by a vehicle, with the seventh green, in particular, destroyed beyond all recognition." Damages to the nine-hole course are estimated at $75,000 -- minimum.

Police from Richmond Station were called to the scene on Friday after the damage was initially discovered. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call (415) 666-8000 or the police anonymous tip line: (415) 575-4444.Text-a-tip is TIP411.

It has been a summer/fall of discontent for Golden Gate Park, which has also suffered repeated tree- and plant-killings in recent months.
