Off-Roading Driver's Rampage Leaves S.F. Golf Course With $75K in Damage

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department reported on its official blog that "the greens and fairways on holes 6, 7 and 8 were heavily damaged by a vehicle, with the seventh green, in particular, destroyed beyond all recognition." Damages to the nine-hole course are estimated at $75,000 -- minimum.
Police from Richmond Station were called to the scene on Friday after the damage was initially discovered. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call (415) 666-8000 or the police anonymous tip line: (415) 575-4444.Text-a-tip is TIP411.
It has been a summer/fall of discontent for Golden Gate Park, which has also suffered repeated tree- and plant-killings in recent months.
