Fire Burns Muni Riders, Too

Not Muni's fault...
A fire that left an Outer Sunset man fighting for his life this morning also caused legions of Muni riders to curse and grumble -- though, in retrospect, they had it pretty good.

A blaze at 1353 44th Avenue displaced four people and send the aforementioned resident to the hospital. Fire vehicles splayed across the N-Judah tracks for an hour, however, left riders as far off as the Embarcadero wondering why no trains were heading toward Mission Bay.

Between 11 a.m. and 11:40, no trains departed for Mission Bay at all. Then three Inbound trains came through Embarcadero within five minutes of one another.

It was the sort of instance that leads to much rancor, rolling of the eyes, and angry #MuniFail tweets

In this case, however, unless Muni started the fire, the anger was misplaced.
