The winner of this bout also received $10
A plucky Muni patron who wasn't letting no one -- no how -- take his 10 bucks pummeled a would-be robber yesterday.

The victim, listed only as a 22-year-old Hispanic man, was waiting for a bus at Third and Innes Monday evening, when he took his wallet out of his pocket to remove a fare payment. At this point, a robber described by police as a 40-year-old Hispanic woman chose to remove a bit more from the man's wallet, allegedly filching $10. Combat ensued.

During a "physical struggle," the 22-year-old was able to successfully win back his $10. But the 40-year-old alleged thief, perhaps in a fit of pique, swiped his cell phone and hurled it into the street.

Police arrested the accused pickpocket, charging her with "robbery with force." The man refused treatment for his injuries. The injuries incurred by the hurled cell phone are not yet known.
