In an interesting confluence of tweeting and tweaking, cops at the SFPD Northern Station announced a meth bust -- via Twitter.

"plainclothes officers made a great drug bust, got a half-pound of meth and over 5 grand off of two dealers, on the 100 block of fell," reads the Tweet.

Sadly, the captain's staff at Northern Station didn't tweet out a report number. But police spokesman Samson Chan turned up the following: On Sept. 11 at around 9 in the evening, a pair of police made a routine check-up of a man on probation living in the Oak Hotel at 174 Fell. When the man opened his door, piles of cash and the drugs were in plain view. Simple as that.

The 100 block of Fell, incidentally, is a hop, skip, and a jump from City Hall, and throwing distance from the Newton Tharp School, a city landmark.
