Hot Tub Women Accused of Robbery, Assault
| Fighting, robbing, and relaxing |
According to a police writeup, two women in their 20s were "dissatisfied with service" after renting a room at 2200 Van Ness -- the address of The Hot Tubs. That establishment describes itself as "a total relaxation experience" -- but that wasn't the case Saturday night. At two minutes prior to midnight, police were called to the scene.
The argument between the women and The Hot Tubs' management boiled over, and one of the irate customers grabbed the establishment's tip jar, and took off running. A 28-year-old Hot Tubs worker chased her down, which led to "a brief physical fight." The man was nicked up for his efforts, but recovered the purloined tip jar.
The two women, meanwhile, escaped and remain at large.
Update, 11:45 a.m.: You won't track down the two hot tub miscreants via payment method, as a call to The Hot Tubs reveals it is a cash-only establishment. No credit cards or checks -- and, no stealing the tip jar, please.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the two women rented a hot tub late Saturday, "dirtied the room," then returned to the front desk 10 minutes later demanding a full refund. They were given a half refund and drama ensued.
