East Bay Murder Spree Just Got More Complicated: Body Discovered
The body was found in the residence of 73-year-old Ricardo Sales. Former security guard Efren Valdemoro is suspected of beating him to death -- and no one has seen Sales' son, Frederick, for weeks.
Valdemoro is also suspected of killing Vallejo residents Segunida Allen and Marcaria Smart, whom he purportedly stalked for years; and his girlfriend, Cindy Tran. Tran's lifeless body was discovered in Valdemoro's car after California Highway Patrol officers shot him dead after he waved a butcher cleaver at them in a Richmond supermarket.
Making matters even odder, Allen's husband, Charles Rittenhouse, was apparently obliviously living alongside the rotting bodies of his wife and her friend. What's more, he had allegedly taken home large amounts of chemicals -- which could be used to make explosives -- from his engineering job. He was charged and jailed, but freed on bail Wednesday.
The sex and cause of death of the newly discovered body have not been disclosed.
