If you were standing at the corner of Hyde and Golden Gate at 5:04 a.m. on July 28 -- and there must be some of you -- then the San Francisco Police are begging for your help.

At around that time, a relatively new, silver four-door vehicle believed to possibly be an Oldsmobile barreled through the crosswalk, running down a man in his early 30s walking to work. The victim remains in San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The partial plate recovered from the vehicle is 6AQ.

Officer Albie Esparza, a SFPD spokesman, says that while only one person called 911, surveillance footage indicates multiple people on the scene. He'd love to hear from you.

Cops are also searching for the perpetrator of a second recent hit-and-run: A 54-year-old man was killed at 19th and Folsom early Saturday morning; there is no description of that vehicle. Obviously, your calls are welcome there, too.

The police can be contacted at the Hit and Run Detail -- that's (415) 553-1215 -- the anonymous tip line -- (415) 575-4444 -- or you can text-a-tip at TIP411.
