When cops swarm into a pot club, it's usually not a welcome development. But it was today at the Berkeley Patients Group after club management alerted the police that a woman wanted on a parental abduction warrant had entered the building.

Sergeant Mike Dougherty of the Berkeley Police Department confirmed the arrest of Michelle Teixeira this afternoon at the San Pablo Avenue pot club. Berkeley Patients Group marketing manager Brad Senesac said his organization has "a really good relationship" with the police, and was just doing its bit.

"We received a copy of the warrant in our dispensary," he said. "A week ago, we saw the individual come into our facility. We didn't recognize her soon enough. So we made a note with our front-desk receptionist to call the police when she returned. We did so, and they captured her today."

Teixeira was wanted on a $50,000 warrant out of Oakland for parental abduction and domestic violence. Other than her choice of marijuana dispensaries, information is relatively scant. She is 34-years-old and listed as 5-foot-3, 180 pounds, and her last known address is in Union City. She is currently imprisoned in Berkeley, and is expected to be transferred to Oakland within the hour.
