Zsa Zsa Gabor in "The Diva Defense"
Danny Garcia, the 27-year-old alleged San Francisco con man awaiting trial in Palm Springs on murder charges, has produced a defense witness list that reads like a Hollywood A- and B-list.

Garcia is representing himself against murder, larceny, and other charges stemming from the December 2008 disappearance of retired Palm Springs art dealer Clifford Lambert, who was known to hobnob with Zsa Zsa Gabor, and the mother of director Oliver Stone, Jacqueline Stone.

In a list of 266 potential witnesses, Garcia requested the presence of Gabor, 93, who suffered a near-fatal fall last month, both Stones, and a packed courtroom's worth of other witnesses hailing from Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, and Beverly Hills, reports the Palm Springs Desert Sun.

Also charged in Lambert's death are San Francisco attorney David Replogle, 61; Kaushal Niroula, 28; Miguel Bustamante, 27; and Craig McCarthy, 30.

Prior to his 2009 Palm Springs arrest, Garcia's purported accomplices had separately been charged in a three-year string of unrelated frauds and other crimes, with alleged victims sometimes plucked from the Castro District bar scene.

Last January, Lambert's Palm Springs home was fraudulently sold to San Jose's Jay Chandrakant Shah for less than $300,000, according to police accounts and real estate records.

Shah is now in jail in San Francisco for his part in yet another alleged Niroula scam involving the fraudulent 2009 sale of three Rincon Hill condominiums.
