Exotic Erotic Ball Heads to Richmond, Abandoning Cow Palace

The Cow Palace housed the annual fest from 2002 to 2007 and again last year.
Howard Mauskopf, executive producer of the ball, tells SF Weekly that the Craneway, a vast waterfront venue with open views of the bay, will offer a more aesthetically pleasing setting for the Oct. 23 event, at which scantily clad crowds cavort well into the night.
"You couldn't beat the fact that this was right on the water, and it was beautiful," Mauskopf said. "When you're in a sexy mood ... it helps to be surrounded by natural beauty. You don't get much natural beauty in a building named for a cow."
Shuttle service will be provided to hotels in Berkeley and Emeryville on the night of the event, Mauskopf said. It hasn't yet been decided whether any bus service will be offered to and from San Francisco.
