San Francisco Police Seize Hundreds of Pounds of Pot in Series of Raids
The San Francisco Police Department busted a growhouse in Laurel Heights, and trucked away more than 100 pounds of marijuana. Following that raid, police also hit a home on 43rd Avenue in the Richmond in what may be a related growing operation.
Two pot busts and neither is in the Outer Sunset? Do residents there feel neglected?

Following several weeks of investigations, police say, they served a search warrant at 3306 California Street yesterday. At that time, marijuana was also discovered in two other apartments within the same building, and are waiting a search warrant to search the fourth, according to KTVU-TV.
Roughly 100 pounds of pot and 100 plants with an estimated value of $350,000 were seized from the alleged growing operation in Laurel Heights. Two men were arrested on the scene in the notably upscale neighborhood bookended by a series of cute little shops and the Jewish Community Center (note that the Bullit-worthy Ford Mustang* is receiving a parking ticket caught on Google Street View).
Following that raid, police rolled over to 43rd Avenue in the Richmond and executed another bust. Spokesman Sergeant Troy Dangerfield could not tell SF Weekly whether that bust was related to the Laurel Heights raid, how much marijuana was seized, or if anyone was arrested.
Update, 8:55 a.m.: Dangerfield says that the raids all led to one another. Following the initial bust at 3306 California, police gathered the entire building was a grow site. Information gleaned within led them to the 500 block of 43rd Avenue in the Richmond. Marijuana and growing paraphernalia were discovered in both the Laurel Heights and Richmond locations. Also, both locations had "jumped the box" -- that is, illegally wired growing lights directly into the system in a manner that evaded the power meter, but often leads to fires.
*After further review, it is a Lincoln; you can see the little insignia on the back. In any event, a very nice, shiny car in front of the growhouse.
