Kerry Dawson, a 24 year-old San Franciscan, was shot up to 15 times by at least two guns as he sat in his Ford Fusion at Hawes and Revere Saturday morning. Amazingly, he managed to drive off before crashing a few blocks later. He was later transported to General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m.

Dawson was a suspected member of the Oakdale Mob, and was included in city attorney Dennis Herrera's 2006 gang injunction. After the injunction became permanent one year later, he and 21 other men were forbidden to carry firearms, meet with one another, or travel within four blocks of the Oakdale projects -- a scant two blocks from where Dawson was killed in a hail of gunfire.

He is the city's 27th homicide victim of the year and first since Richmond party-goer Lee Farley was shot dead outside Jelly's Cafe in Mission Bay on July 11 after having a dispute with a fellow reveler.
