For the bridge, it's a great time out...
How overdue is the erection of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge? Well, the Golden State Warriors couldn't wait for the span to actually exist before adopting it as their new logo.

With portions of the signature tower sections set to arrive in Oakland tomorrow or Saturday after a month-long voyage from Shanghai, we now have a three-way race across the bay. Which will happen first? A. The Warriors taking the court in their bridge uniforms; B. The bridge taking shape, or; C. Another Warriors big man going down with an injury.

The quartet of shafts due any day now are roughly 150 feet tall and each weigh about 1,433 tons, according to Caltrans. By the way, hoisting a load that size is easily within the Left-Coast Lifter's range.

The eastern span is slated to be open for business by the end of 2013. Perhaps by then, LeBron James and his Warriors teammates can parade the NBA championship trophy across it.
