George Gervin, Artis Gilmore in Bayview Today

The Iceman cometh ... to San Francisco

​A pair of former National Basketball Association stars who may or may not have graced the posters your high school history teacher plastered around his room are headed to San Francisco today for a series of free clinics.

George Gervin and Artis Gilmore will be in Bayview this morning (Adrian Dantley, whose "The Man Who Brought Pizzazz To The Jazz" poster was also a favorite of my high school teachers, is elsewhere).

Gervin ("The Iceman") and Gilmore ("The A-Train") will hold clinics at 9:30 a.m. at the Joseph Lee Recreation Center; at 11:30 a.m. at the Bayview-Hunters Point YMCA; and at 1:30 p.m. at the Willie Mays Boys and Girls Club.
