We now know how much it costs to have multiple city agencies sweeping up 48,000 tons of detritus: nearly $88,000.
The DPW sent its bill for $35,800 to the Anschutz Entertainment Group, which organizes the 99-year-old race. But while Rec and Park's haul was a fraction of DPW's, its bill was higher.
AEG was billed a $28,000 "Facility/Park Impact Fee" and an additional $22,000 for reimbursing park rangers, street sweepers, and cleanup crews for Golden Gate Park, the panhandle, and Alamo Square.
An additional $2,000 in undisclosed expenses on top of AEG's pre-race payment of $50,000 will be sent the company's way.
Finally, sources close to the race organizers tell us that no new sponsor or sponsors have yet been lined up to replace insurance giant ING, which opted to not renew its five-year contract following this year's race. Landing a new sponsor -- or not -- could "take time," according to what we're hearing.
