A 17-year old is in police custody after he detonated a "homemade explosive device" behind a Menlo Park middle school on Wednesday night, according to police (via Bay City News). Police responded to calls from citizens reporting a "loud explosion" coming from La Entrada Middle School, according to Bay City News. Witnesses led police to the teen in question, who didn't put up much of a fight, admitting to setting off da bomb.

No one was injured and no substantial property damaged occurred, Dixon said. Police and the San Mateo County sheriff's bomb squad searched the suspect's home but did not find any other explosives, police said. The county crime lab assisted with evidence collection.

Exactly what da bomb consisted of and what da bomb looked like and what da teen wanted to
do with da bomb, all unknown. Developing!
