Medvedev Takes Much Better Twitpics Than Newsom

In addition to admiring our skyline, Medvedev offered a little insider information for new media-crazed locals when he visited Twitter's San Francisco HQ this morning before speeding off to meetings in Silicon Valley (shunning Blue Bottle, Farolito, Critical Mass, and the Ferry Building Farmers' Market as things not quite cool as you thought they were).
Mayor Gavin Newsom, a serial tweeter, checked in several times with his Twitter followers while waiting for Medvedev to stop oohing over the view and show up to their new media summit. He also, somehow magically, ended up in two Twitpics posted to his own account (an aside: Call us a Luddite if you will, but isn't that, like, kinda unpossible? Like, how can you take a photo of yourself and then post it yourself?).

Maybe it's an important dude type-thing, because Medvedev followed suit and did the same -- albeit with way more megapixels. Check it out. The Russian leader's twitpics look like they're taken with a top-of-the-line Canon; our American twitpics look slightly less sophisticated than the images seen on a LiteBrite.
The missile gap, the Twitter gap. Nothing ever changes, everyone: McCarthy was on to something.
