You Think Carly Fiorina Gives a F*ck About Global Warming?
| Soft on terrorism, just like Barbara Boxer |
The spot features footage of Boxer in 2007 calling climate change "one of the very important national security issues we face." Cut to Fiorina, staring soberly into the camera: "Terrorism kills. And Barbara Boxer's worried about the weather." (Pshaw. And those drowning polar bears? Those Dutch with their steadily rising canals? I bet those fools are worried about the weather, too!)
We put a call in to the Fiorina campaign to clarify the candidate's position on global warming -- which, as The Washington Independent notes, hasn't exactly been consistent over time. Campaign spokesperson Amy Thoma got back to us via e-mail with this: "Carly believes we must have the courage to examine the science behind global warming and we must balance our need to protect the environment with our need to create jobs and get the economy moving."
What more is there to say? What, you wanna talk about the weather some more, punk? Don't feel like sacking up and defying general scientific consensus?
At any rate, now that Fiorina looks like the likely GOP senatorial nominee, we can certainly expect more interesting attack ads in the general election -- don't forget that this is the same campaign that brought us the epically bonkers Demon Sheep.
