On the last day of straightforward $4 tolls for the Bay Bridge, a woman driving a Volvo hit speeds of 100 miles per hour on the eastbound, lower deck before hitting a recycling truck and bursting into flames  in the predawn hours. The woman's identity has not yet been released; the Medical Examiner's office has dubbed her "Jane Doe No. 12."

The driver of the big rig was not harmed in the accident, which shut down all eastbound traffic between about 3:50 and 4:30 a.m. A pair of lanes were then opened and the bridge was completely cleared by about 6 a.m.
