Willie Speights, a 60-year-old San Franciscan, was the man on crutches who was struck and killed by an exiting car as he wandered onto a highway off-ramp near Cesar Chavez, according to the city's Medical Examiner.

At around 8:45 p.m. last night, Speights, for reasons unknown, crutched his way onto the 101 off-ramp. The driver of the car that killed him suffered no major injuries and the off-ramp was closed for the better part of an hour.
