Torture? Or graduation night beer-funneling?
Protesters are planning to attend graduation ceremonies this Friday at UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law to voice their displeasure at the continued presence of Bush Administration torturer's apprentice John Yoo on the law school's faculty.

In a press release sent out today, an organization calling itself World Can't Wait renewed its demand -- expressed over the past two years, including during demonstrations at the past two law-school graduation ceremonies -- that Yoo "be fired from the University of California, and disbarred, as well as prosecuted for war crimes."

The demonstration will apparently feature folks clad in Guantanamo-style jumpsuits at the Hearst Greek Theater on the morning Friday, May 14.

As a lawyer in President George Bush's Department of Justice, Yoo wrote a notorious set of memos that sought to provide legal justification for harsh interrogation of terrorist suspects, including waterboarding. Yoo has taught numerous classes at Berkeley since retiring from the Justice Department, including a course last year on civil procedure.
