Gay Kiss-In To be Held in Castro Monday ... And Every Day
| Castro version coming Monday... |
The kiss-in is one of many held worldwide on May 17 to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (May 17, incidentally, is the day in 1992 the World Heath Organization declared that being gay is not a disease).
Kissers -- huggers and hand-holders are also welcome -- will gather at Harvey Milk Plaza at Castro and Market at 5 p.m. The "Great Global Kiss-In" will be held in scores of cities worldwide.
The official rationale behind the mass kiss-ins is to "express our love for ourselves and our brothers and sisters around the planet, many of whom cannot engage in public displays of affection because of local laws or threats of violence." And if you can do that while looking great in a video like the one above filmed in Gay Paree -- c'est magnifique.
