Eric Byrnes: Softball God

Categories: Sports

We recently wrote a pair of articles about how former Oakland A's fan favorite Eric Byrnes is now being paid $11 million to sell sofas and play beer-league softball on the Peninsula.

After the wheels came off the 34-year-old's Major League career in Seattle, we were hoping Giants general manager Brian Sabean wouldn't venture down to Menlo Park to watch Byrnes ripping it up for the Dutch Goose bar and restaurant softball team and get any ideas.

Now we're not so sure we don't want to see Byrnes in orange and black. Check out the Bay Area native, above, sending a ball into the stratosphere. It seems this man has found his calling.

Also, be sure to put your speakers up to 11 so your co-workers can also revel in the hilarity of Byrnes' teammates simultaneously bellowing about his moon shot.
