• @moldor And then again, we all know the 1st version of anything this new sells itself. It's quite wise to leave some room for minor improvements such as the ones you mentioned. That sells the 2nd version, etc...

• I can't help feeling that releasing it without a front-facing camera (video conferencing) and at lease an SD card slot (for photo uploads, etc) and a fully functional bluetooth stack was a mistake.

• "revealed himself to his flock" there's more "anti apple" bullshit in the world than there is "apple fanboy" bullshit. from someone who so far hasn't given a damned about either side, it's really obvious which side is the rabid, zealous one....and it's not the "fanboys". it's getting old. get over it.

• The "Mothership" is the Apple Store on the Cupertino, CA Campus. The downtown Palo Alto store is a few block from his home.

• @iPad User: Yes, it is known as the Jesus tablet (pre-resurrection), but I thought the 'mothership' was Apple HQ in Cupertino.

• Being in the store would be the best place to gage the launch. Real customers reactions are better than any other data...Plus, It would feel better and he's probably tired of reading about it on his prototype!
