Muni Confirms CEO Called Mandatory Meeting Following SF Weekly Cover

That means you, Muni employee!
Last week we reported that, in the wake of SF Weekly's cover story, Muni CEO Nat Ford demanded his top brass attend a Wednesday meeting in which he railed against "snitches" talking to the media.

Muni spokeswoman Kristen Holland today confirmed that this meeting did, in fact, occur. However, the agency's official line is a bit different than the versions SF Weekly heard.

As noted before, Ford purportedly handed out a copy of SF Weekly to each of his top lieutenants -- 40, 60 or perhaps more Muni employees in all. After allowing them 20-odd minutes to read "The Muni Death Spiral," he then reportedly excoriated the crowd regarding talking to the press about Muni's legions of problems.

"There's a snitch in this room," he allegedly said.

And yet, according to Holland, that's not what this mandatory meeting was about at all. She noted that it was all about reinforcing an atmosphere of "trust and collegiality."

And if it wasn't -- nobody better snitch!
