• Michael Malott put out the biography on Dennis Peron. Dennis collaborated with the author, so the book is extremely accurate. Its a great book and I think there's about 25,000 copies out now of it. I know somebody is trying to do a copycat project, but Malott actually was on the front lines with Peron when everything was taking place. The author writes from first hand experience.

• I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis and his friend Elaine in Montana in the '70s. We met at a Rainbow family gathering.It was reported that we dosed and went to the summit of a ridge and had a feast and it made the biggest impact on me.( of course, I would refuse to have any knowledge of said events if asked by the wrong people). Dennis taught me how to cool my body quickly in survival techniques that he had retained from his training as a soldier, along with hiking for quite sometime together and had the plaeasure of getting to know this guy completely on a level of just friendly aquaintenances. I visited Dennis at his home on Castro st. in San Francisco( he owned a restauraunt at the time, The Oasis?) shortly after we met in Montana and he told me, after exasperation at my naivety concerning life in general. I was a hick from a small town.He told me "you are not in Kansas anymore". It hit me like a ton of bricks.I immediately made it my job to not be that hick from a small town that had no sense of ther world around them. It has worked pretty well. I do not know if any of this trips a memory with you, but thank you for the memroies.Thanks for all the hard work and personal sacrifice you have given, and I think that you have affected my life for years and did not even know it. I am an ibtern at The Rainbow Center in Tacoma Washington, and will be a counselor someday. The center is an advocacy and resource center fr LGBT community in the Pierce County area.
