iPhone Engineer Gets Drunk, Makes Tech Media History

And sets Twitter account to "Protected."

Gray Powell, now the most notorious and least careful engineer in Apple history, lost a secret snazzy new iPhone while drunk about a month ago and apparently didn't put a pass code lock on it -- single-handedly triggering an impromptu launch of iPhone 4G .

It comes as no surprise that he didn't make his @graypowell Twitter account private until, well, now.

In case you missed it ...
What is striking here is that Powell continues to make tech industry commentary and get into iPhone OS 4-related conversations with pundits like Engadget Editor-in-chief Joshua Topolsky, despite the fact that he personally lost one of the few testing units in existence.

It's strange how open he is: Considering how cutthroat this industry is (and how easy it is to screen-cap) you think he would have learned to shut the fuck up, at least by this morning.
